NGSA opinion poll

Some Members of Parliament and their allies want to change the law to ban all selection on the grounds of academic ability, except where schools offer places to equal proportions of pupils from each ability range. In effect, this would destroy England's remaining 164 grammar schools. In another, similar piece of legislation, some ministers and MPs want to destroy Northern Ireland's 69 grammar schools. Please give your views on this by answering the two questions below.

1) I/We fully support existing grammar schools as an additional voluntary choice for parents and their children.

Parents in some areas of the country have no grammar schools in their locality. They are therefore denied any opportunity for their child to benefit from a selective secondary education within the state system, if that is their choice. (Even in areas where grammar schools exist, some children who pass the 11-plus exam cannot find a place in a grammar school, because there aren't enough of them.)
2) I/We would you like to see the introduction of some new grammar schools, especially in urban areas where none currently exist?
